Canary Island Way of Life: Lanzarote
Have you ever heard of the Canary Islands? Well they are a set of 8 main islands off the coast of Morocco that are owned by Spain. Each island has its own unique landscape so traveling to all of them is a must. We were lucky enough to spend three weeks in Lanzarote - known as the “different island.”
Lanzarote is filled with lava fields, red earth, white washed houses and amazing crystal waters. There are views of volcanoes and rolling mountains right next to white and gold sand beaches. It is a beautiful island filled with tons of art and tourist attractions created César Manrique.
César was a sculpture, painter, interior designer, urban planner and more. He lived from 1919 to 1992. Studied in NYC and realized there was more to life than the rat race and he needed to get back to nature. He headed back to Lanzarote in the 60’s to combine art with nature and to attract tourism to Lanzarote. His goal was to create these beautiful spaces that would help give people on the island a better life and opportunities.
Here is a list of our favorite things to do on the island.

We stayed in Lanzarote for three weeks and remote worked during the day. Our airbnb had great wifi and it was a breeze working from the balcony overlooking Playa Blanca. If you are just going to vacation in Lanzarote we would recommend a 4-5 day visit to explore the island.
